Shannon 5/30/09

Heyo friends,

So today has thus far been a test of flexibility. After a small encounter with a stomach ache last night, I woke up at 530 to get to Dar Es Salaam to catch a ferry to Zanzibar. Yeah... didn't work out so well. It was far to expensive. So instead we decided to stay in Dar for the day.

Half of the group headed to South Beach, to chill on the beach and catch up with some friends Beth made the other week. I went with Brod, Elisha and Sheby to stop at the internet and then head to the mall and then look for a street the resembles India I think (I dunno really, its more Brodie's thing, I'm just happy to see anything).

I have very mixed emotions about coming home. I miss my friends and family, but I am so sad to leave the children at IMUMA. I have come to love each of them so much, and I don't know how I am going to go from seeing them 5 or 6 times a week to not at all. Its going to be hard.

I do know one thing for sure though. I'm coming back here. Bagamoyo, all out new friendies and Imuma have a special place in my heart, and I can't even imagine my life without them now. This trip has been the greatest opportunity ever and I am unbelievably greatful to have been chosen.

Shannon - May 27 2008

I am having so much fun here in Tanzania.

I love the kids we are working with so so so much. I don't want to leave.

We have all made some amazing friends. Most artists of some sort or another. All good people. They have showed us around and given us tours and welcomed us into their homes for meals.

It has all been so amazing. I can't wait to share pictures with everyone when we get home!
